About Us

At Willow Botanicals, we are building a regenerative business; one that gives more to Mother Earth and her people than it takes.

Our Commitment

At Willow Botanicals, our journey is rooted in a deep respect for nature. We meticulously select only the finest all-natural, pure, and ethically sourced ingredients, believing that true wellness begins with purity. From the initial spark of an idea to the final product, every step of our development cycle is guided by a commitment to regenerative practices. We understand that growth is a continuous path of learning and improvement. As we expand, we remain committed to continually evolving our understanding and refining our methods, always striving to make a positive impact on the world around us.

Our Vision

Together with businesses and communities around the world, our small business works toward a healthy, compassionate, inclusive future. We envision a future where:

  • All is well!
  • There is joy and hope.
  • Climate Change is slowed and reversed.
  • Ecosystems are resilient.
  • People are healthy.
  • There is social and environmental justice for all.
  • Communities are strong.
  • Learning is fun, art and food are abundant, and we share prosperity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote joy and hope for the future through supporting personal, community, and ecological wellness.

What We Do

You need natural, healthy self-care products you can trust.

We harness nature’s magic to craft sumptuous, small-batch perfumes and aromatherapy products that nourish your mind, body, and spirit. Our unique products not only benefit you, but also people, communities, and the earth.

Through responsible sourcing, creative design, and careful production, our products are an excellent choice for caring consumers. A percentage of each purchase supports Village Network. This small and powerful non-profit organization works with West African communities, providing access to water, sanitation, and basic necessities. Buyers can boost their donations through our Gifts That Give program.

What We Value

  • Love and kindness – Love for people and the planet fuels everything we do. Kindness is the way we operate.
  • Creativity – We foster creativity, a great source of joy, and innovation to solve big problems.
  • Justice – We work to create equity and promote inclusion.
  • Wellness – Our products and programs promote individual, community, and ecosystem well-being.
  • Shared Prosperity – We support an economic model of shared prosperity that lifts all of us.
  • Co-creation and Learning – We create products and programs in collaboration with people, fostering learning and sharing.

Designed for Everyone

  • At Willow Botanicals, our products are gender inclusive, designed with everyone in mind.
  • We celebrate cultural, gender-spectrum, and ecological diversity.
  • Anyone can enjoy and benefit from all our products.

Who We Are

Willow Botanicals Partners - Julia Washburn, Lucinda Cathcart & Catherine Barkley.

As a team of aspiring green witches, we create magic together–crafting all-natural, socially and environmentally conscious products that benefit both people and Mother Earth. Rather than embarking upon a quiet life of retirement, Julia had a vision to create a small, hand-crafted skin care business in the hills of western Massachusetts. Lucinda and Catherine were thrilled to join her on this adventure.

After raising our families (a work still in progress) and pursuing various careers–Julia, as a National Park Service ranger, environmental educator, and public land manager; Lucinda, as an artist, co-owner of a gallery, bookkeeper, and public charter middle school art teacher; and Catherine, as a naturopathic practice manager, interior painter, and marketing and development print manager–it was a time for change for all. Julia and Lucinda relocated to the beautiful foothills of western Massachusetts and Catherine began her weekly commutes from the North Shore. Julia, with her husband Bill, bought Open View Farm in 2023–the home they share with Willow Botanicals. Now, we strive to live lightly on the land, stewarding 118 acres of forest, meadows, and wetlands for the benefit of native wildlife. We practice regenerative agriculture, have lovingly restored a 200-year-old farmhouse, and have installed a solar array to live more in harmony with nature.

Julia received a diploma in Aromatherapy from the American College of Healthcare Sciences and is a nationally registered Aromatherapist. She also studied perfumery with master perfumers Addas Saalam Atar in Italy and Mandy Aftel in San Francisco. Lucinda and Julia studied skincare formulation at the Soap School in Huddersfield, England. Lucinda has applied her passion and talent for design to the creation of our brand identity and some of our objects of beauty. Catherine brings her degree in business management along with her passion for alternative medicine and therapies, love for the environment, and commitment to social justice causes to Willow Botanicals.
